The Ubiquiti Networks R5AC-PTP is a professional airMAX AC bridge radio designed for high-performance point-to-point (PtP) wireless connections in the 5 GHz band. With its robust outdoor enclosure and advanced technologies, it offers long-distance and stable connectivity solutions. It is ideal for backhaul links requiring high bandwidth between two points and stands out for its ease of installation. Its technical strengths include using the 802.11ac (airMAX AC) standard for improved efficiency and low latency. Ubiquiti's patented airPrism Active RF Filtering technology improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), reduces interference, and enables cleaner spectrum usage. The device operates in a wide temperature range from -40°C to 80°C, is powered by an included 24V Passive PoE adapter, and features waterproof RP-SMA connectors for harsh outdoor conditions. The R5AC-PTP is typically used in scenarios requiring fiber-equivalent high-speed connections between two fixed points, such as campuses, industrial facilities, or rural areas. When paired with a RocketDish antenna, it provides a reliable solution for connecting buildings or network infrastructures over kilometers. It is also frequently preferred in enterprise applications such as security camera system connections or remote office links.
