The Cudy MC100GMA-05 is a Gigabit Ethernet media converter supporting 10/100/1000M speeds. This device bridges copper (RJ45) and fiber optic networks, making it ideal for connecting distant points such as different buildings or shopping mall floors. Its sturdy metal case and compact size allow for desktop or rack-mount installations. Technically, it is equipped with 1 Gigabit RJ45 port and 2 1.25G SC/UPC fiber ports. With multi-mode fiber support operating at 850 nm wavelength, it offers transmission distances up to 550 meters. It supports 16 KB Jumbo Frame for efficient transmission of large data packets, and thanks to the 802.3az Power Saving feature, it operates with a low power consumption of max 1.3W. Additionally, troubleshooting features such as Far End Fault (FEF) and Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) provide convenience for network administrators. This media converter is especially used in long-distance connections where copper cable is insufficient, such as campus networks, security camera systems, and industrial facilities. It is a practical solution for migrating an existing Gigabit Ethernet network to a fiber backbone or connecting two separate buildings at high speed. Installation is very simple, requiring no additional configuration thanks to its plug-and-play design.
